i think...

it's easy to forget how lucky we are. this is just a plain and simple gratitude post from your loyal blogger. i'm grateful for my family, and for the healthy little one kicking away inside this big ol' belly, about to make his/her way out soon. i'm also thankful for the beautiful weather that we had in california yesterday--gorgeous weather that allowed us to hit the beach on our way home from the pumpkin patch in half moon bay. (pumpkin patch photos to come).

I stumbled upon your blog searching for Trader Joe's shampoo, of all things, and am so happy to have found it! Such gorgeous photos, and such sweet and informative writing! :)

I've been following your blog since I was pregnant with my daughter, Kaia Belle. I have to say your family is beautiful. You are extremely blessed. We didn't know our baby had only half a heart. 3 weeks after her open heart surgery, she passed away. We were green before the baby, but your site gives me so many great ideas. And, even though our little angel didn't make it, I still come here for my daily dose of new green ideas. Keep it coming! You're a true inspiration!

oops, the whole reason I posted a comment the first time was to ask you what kind of camera you use. Your pictures are always so beautiful. I love the vintage feel of these.

@ crunchygranolamama:

thanks so much for your comments and for sharing the story of your little girl kaia. it truly touched my heart, and from one mommy to another, i'm so sorry for your loss. as for the camera, we use a canon rebel xti. it's a digital slr--one of the best investments we have made since lucy's arrival. the vintage-looking photos were achieved by jeremy shooting the canon through the lens of an old kodak duaflex box camera. i believe it is from the late 40's or early 50's. i love the images we get from it!
