buying cheap plastic-y garland from target or michaels, why not make your own from leftover fabric scaps? check out this cute & easy fabric paper chain tutorial at filminthefridge--what a great idea for a handmade decoration to fancy up the place for the holidays. sadly, i don't think i'll get around to it this year, as my personal handmade holiday has me in kind of a panic. where, oh where, has the time gone?

anyway, i think it would be really neat to make links year-round as good scrap is available. by christmastime there'd certainly be enough to go around the tree--and then some.
